Mikko Suutari Brings Strong Production Expertise to Sensmet

Mikko Suutari, MSc in Process Engineering, has joined Sensmet as Production Manager. Sensmet launched the new innovative µDOES® Multi-metal Water Analyser product last November and after successful pilots Sensmet is scaling up the production. Mikko will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating Sensmet's production, quality management and sub-contractor relations. In addition, he will supervise field operations and technical support.

Sensmet was looking for a new team member to support the growing analyser production. Mikko convinced us during the interviews that he is the right person for the position. He is very development oriented and was able to show his positive attitude towards new challenges. He has got the mindset of innovativeness, cost-efficiency and productivity. Mikko has successfully developed production processes in his earlier positions. In addition, he has been in charge of transferring a large-scale production line to Finland.

Mikko graduated from the University of Oulu in 2008 with a focus on Production Technology and Process Development. Since graduation he has worked at companies like Stora Enso, Efora, Paroc and Ewona Finland. “I’m happy to join Sensmet. I see this as a great opportunity for me to build and learn something new. I’m a very goal-driven person and I enjoy new challenges. In the past I have been working with process lines, but now this work will be more focused on the assembly and ramping up the production for high technology water analysers. I’m also looking forward to develop the field installation procedures and to work together with the customers.”, says Mikko on his first working day at Sensmet.

Mikko starts at Sensmet by developing the product assembly, technical documentation and improving the production lead times. Mikko is a green belt level practitioner of Lean Six Sigma which shows his interest in quality and continual improvement.

During his free time Mikko likes to go to gym, rides a bike as well as does fishing and hunting. He also likes to tinker in his garage.
