New R&D Chemist Sari Tähkä Joins Sensmet

After her PhD research on analytical microfluidic systems at the University of Helsinki, Dr Sari Tähkä joined Sensmet as an R&D Chemist.

” I am thrilled to be a part of the team! When I first heard about Sensmet, I was impressed by Sensmet’s automated µDOES® Multi-metal Water Analyser for simultaneous determination of multiple elements in water samples. Now that I have used the company’s analyser for around a month, my first impression has been strengthened – the technology is great and I can’t wait to see its full potential, ” Sari explains.

Sari Tähkä is an Analytical Chemist with a PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Her dissertation was about the development of microfluidic devices for pharmaceutical applications. The interdisciplinary research on analytical microtechnology consisted of polymer and material chemistry as well as analytical performance testing of the developed systems. This broad background and skills support Sari’s future work at Sensmet in an excellent practice. Dr Tähkä has strong environmental values together with a professional interest in laboratory and chemical safety.

Sari loves to spend her free time together with her family and especially enjoys camping. She is also keen on dog agility training and gardening. It’s in her garden where she feels fully relaxed.
